I got lucky and my motor had a 4l80 behind it so it had the spacer built into the flywheel already. I have the spacer you need here if you want it. I won’t be using it.

My 5.3 was in front of a 4L60E originally, all I had to do was oval the holes out on it and it worked on the 700r4. I actually just tossed it in the scrap bin at work last week lol. New flexplate for the 4L80E was identical to the one that came off the engine too, and bolted right up on my 4L80E.

The flywheel I bought looks just like the original also. But has mas holes.

Its just about ready to stab, but I totally spaced on bellhousing bolts. Damn metric stuffs. 🤣
My brother from another Mother saved the day, he has some I'll pick up in the AM. Thanks, Reddog.

I have to stop and dbl check stuff now. Make sure I'm not overlooking something. I need mas patience. :smokin:

The todo list is long yet...but shorter than last week.

Are you doing a manual valve body in that transmission? If not, how do you plan to address the TV cable?

The Bowtie OD kit is a little pricey but works great, but I recommend installing it before you bolt the transmission up as you need to open it up and change the TV spring out. Much easier to do with transmission able to be flipped over.

Also, something to keep in mind if you do ever intend to drive it any distance at a reasonable speed, hooking the lockup up for something like that works wonders. I attempted to run without lockup, and the transmission ran almost 40 degrees hotter than it did with lockup hooked up. Obviously that isnt a concern for low speed crawling stuff, but if you intend to do anything that will allow you to cruise around in a higher gear for extended periods, its worth considering.

Also, keep in mind that the block has no threaded hole where that dipstick is currently setup to bolt up. Seen guys wedge a nut in that hole, or insert a riv nut to bolt it up. You don't want to drill and tap the block at that's right into a water passage, that's why it was left untapped from the factory.

Well, its in the chassis.. sort of. Engine cross member does not line up with the engine mounts. not sure what happened, but its 1/2 a hole off. Everything else on the cross member lines up as it should. I'm gonna have to go outside the box on this one. I got some ideas.. :) I can make it work as is.. but that's more of a trail repair thing, not doing that.

Engine crossmember is fixed, mounts are finish welded, lower skid plate is on.

Next is to build transmission mount, install the atlas and make rear mount for it. Then start fabbing the front links.
