Rubicon Trail Summer '23

So 72blazer mentioned the Rubicon trail for next summer.. Juana and I are down for that.

just need to pick a date. I'm doing some reading and all on the web about best and worst times, etc..

I'm gonna make this a sticky so it don't get lost.

We could possibly be in. Already planning a jeep trip to Yellowstone and Glacier National Park.

yup..2-3 days depending how much you wheel each day, etc.. here's a good article about it.

We were planning this trip next summer as well, I'll be in Reno already July 16-17. Kind of ditched the idea after following the Rubicon trail group the past few months on FB.
Keep up with the Jeeper event dates as they close the trail for their events, and be aware that the state can and will at any given time shut the trail down for various time periods for maintenance without warning.

Why did you ditch the idea ?

After seeing them close the trail multiple times without notice, and not having the ability to move my dates around I didn't want to plan on a 4,000 mile round trip and end up hitting a closure or something. We were supposed to do Moab this year, but that fell through due to not having my rig done in time and another buddies shop not being built in time for him to get his done. Semi planning to hit Moab at Spring break next year instead. Rubicon is still on the bucket list, but for later down the road when I have some more flexibility on the timing.
